When serving up eggs for breakfast, there’s nothing more satisfying than getting that oozy yellow yolk when you tuck in.
But cooking eggs just right can be tricky and it’s easy to overdo them and end up with a hard middle.
One mum, known only as Jenny, claims to have a simple trick for getting the ‘perfect’ runny egg every single time you make it – and she’s shared it online for everyone to try.
The Daily Mail reports that Jenny shared her cooking method to an Australian food group on Facebook – Kmart Pie Maker Recipes, Tips and Ideas Australia.
In order to give it a go for yourself, there is just one thing you’ll need, aside from eggs.
The mum uses a pie maker from Kmart as part of her method, but you can purchase a similar device online in the UK.
She wrote on social media: “There’s really no other way to cook them!
“Cook for five minutes for soft [eggs] or seven minutes for hard.”
Jenny added that for the softer eggs, it’s worth leaving the lid of the machine up while cooking.
Alongside her advice she shared a snap of the eggs she cooked in the pie maker, which have a lovely runny yolk.
Her post garnered a lot of attention, with many thanking Jenny for sharing it as they’d never thought to use the pie maker for this purpose before.
One person said they tried it for themselves and were “very pleased” with the results.
They commented: “Eggs were perfect, I just love this machine.”
Others shared their other unique uses for the pie maker, including baking muffins, arancini balls, mini pizzas, crumpets and all sorts of different desserts.
